The 3-Star Aston Pacific Monarch is a
renovated condominium hotel and great for
budget minded travelers. It's less than two
blocks from world famous Waikiki Beach and a
short walk to Kuhio Beach, part of Kapiolani
Park. The park is home to the Honolulu Zoo,
Honolulu Aquarium, a world-class bandstand
with free entertainment every weekend and
the Waikiki Shell, home to outdoor concerts.
Kuhio Beach is more laid back than Waikiki
Beach with more residents enjoying the beach
and park area with its picnic tables and
shaded lawns. It's also the site of the
city's free Sunset on the Beach movies,
usually held every other Saturday and Sunday
evening. It draws thousands of people
including local residents and visitors.
The hotel features the only rooftop swimming
pool in Waikiki. It's not large, but the
view is breathtaking and if you want more
water space, there are the beaches nearby.
They also feature a sauna, large jet spa and
a hospitality lounge for those who are
taking a later flight or arrive earlier than
the standard hotel 3 pm check in. Other
amenities include parking (fee), laundry
facilities, complimentary newspapers in the
lobby, sundry store, security, Activity Desk
and more.
A new restaurant Jinroku Restaurant recently
opened in the hotel, featuring Teppanyaki-style
cuisine, a really delicious introduction to
Japanese food with the cooking taking place
in front of you, usually with a great
display of skill by the chefs. This is a
great property for those who want to spend
money on doing things, rather than having a
luxurious hotel room to stay in. You can
save dollars by making your own breakfast,
even picnic lunches if you're planning to
tour the island, then have extra money for
specials dinners or activities. One thing
that will help is the Aloha Book that you
receive upon check in.
There are discounts and coupons for dining,
shopping and entertainment to save you even
more money and a 2 for 1 luau coupon. At
check-in each child (ages 12 years and
younger) receives a plastic pail and shovel
set and an Aston Kids: Stay, Play&Eat Free,
kids ID card and a flyer detailing
participating establishments and their
offers for each island. Families will only
receive one ID card and lanyard per child
per stay. |
