OVERVIEW |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The North Shore of Oahu is legendary for its
30- to 40-foot waves that arrive like
clockwork every winter to the island. The
power of the ocean, the sound of the waves
breaking offshore and the sheer beauty of
the thunderous, towering waves is something
magical to behold. But there is something
just as magical on the North Shore called
Turtle Bay Resort, a 4-star hotel. One of
only two full-service luxury resorts located
outside Waikiki, the resort is located on
880 oceanfront acres featuring natural,
unspoiled beauty, five miles of pristine
beach and at least 12 miles of ocean hiking
trails.
The grounds are beautifully landscaped with
two large pools, two championship golf
courses, horseback riding, hiking and
mountain bike trails, ten tennis courts and
even a surfing school. You can take
advantage of the Fitness Center with its
state-of-the-art cardiovascular equipment,
open 6 am to 10 pm daily. Then there is the
luxurious Spa Luana where you can have a
massage of any type while looking out to the
ocean - it can't get much better than that.
How does a 45-minute horseback ride along
tropical forests and sand beaches sound?
They also offer a 90-minute Evening Ride, a
slow paced ride through the ironwood forests
and up a sandy coastline; a Wagon Ride to
Kawela Bay and back; and, for the little
ones, Pony walks. The pools are spacious and
include a great water slide, waterfalls and
grottos in a beautiful pool complex that
includes a pool bar where you can get
appetizers and snacks all day long as well
as cocktails.
The Turtle Bay Resort is a great place for
families. With the swimming pool complex,
activities and hiking trails, there is
something for children of all ages to enjoy.
The Keiki Turtle Club is a supervised
children's program for ages 5 to 12 years
old. The club offers Hawaiiana projects,
outdoor activities and arts and crafts,
available in full day, half day and even
evening programs.
Dining options include award winning
contemporary island cuisine served at 21
Degrees North and a elaborate buffet at Palm
Terrace. Breakfast, lunch & dinner is
offered at Lei Lei's Bar and Grill and the
very popular Sunday Brunch is served in the
Sunset Room. Located at Bay View Beach, Ola
is the newest dining spot featuring an
eclectic blend of Pacific Rim fare by an
award-winning chef that is getting rave
reviews. For snacking, stop by the Sand Bar,
or check out the surf side Hang Ten Bar, or
for late night dancing and cocktails be sure
not to miss the Bay Club.
From late October to April you can watch the
fascinating and playful Humpback Whales from
your lanai as they pass by on their way to
Maui on their annual migration. And of
course, there are the Hawaiian green sea
turtles. Called "Honu" in Hawaiian, they are
an endangered species, protected by law and
revered by the Hawaiian people. They are
beautiful to watch and easy to spot from
your lanai.
The setting is breathtaking, the rooms are
elegant, the service is wonderful. Away from
the razzle dazzle of Waikiki, it is not only
the perfect place for a family vacation, but
the ideal spot to celebrate an anniversary
or to enjoy an unforgettable honeymoon. This
is truly a first class resort, with
wonderful things to see and do in a setting
that will simply take your breath away -
this is Turtle Bay Resort.
A resort fee is paid directly to the hotel
and includes unlimited local calls, long
distance access, 800 numbers, credit card
and collect calls; complimentary coffee/tea;
