The budget 1.5-star Pagoda Hotel is well
known not only for the value of its
accommodations, but the spectacular ponds of
Koi fish that surround the award-winning
Pagoda Floating Restaurant. With a waterfall
backdrop and lush foliage, the garden is a
perfect spot to simply sit back and relax.
Add in the convenient location in the heart
of Honolulu, two blocks from Ala Moana
Center and a hop, skip and a jump from Ala
Moana Beach Park and you have a winner
combination. Away from the hustle and bustle
of Waikiki, the Pagoda offers economical
rooms, including Hotel Rooms, Studios and
One and Two Bedroom Suites.
Halfway between Waikiki and downtown
Honolulu, the hotel is only a few minutes
walk to Ala Moana Shopping Center, with over
260 shops and restaurants and a few minutes
more to Ala Moana Beach Park. It's about 6
long blocks to the start of Waikiki, but
nearby the hotel is both a Wal-Mart and
Sam's Club, plus a variety of ethnic
restaurants.
Property amenities include two small
swimming pools, 24 hour desk, hair salon,
safe deposit box in lobby (fee), dry
cleaning service, parking (fee), express
checkout, gift shop, laundry facilities,
ATM, business services and security guard.
Be sure to spend some time strolling through
the Japanese gardens, a calm peaceful area
with a series of fish ponds filled with Koi
(Carp), the symbol for courage, longevity
and luck. The ponds wend their way around
and under the Pagoda Floating Restaurant.
The award winning Pagoda Floating Restaurant
serves local-style food at reasonable
prices. The restaurant appears to float
above a miniature lake in the setting of
cascading waterfalls and meandering Koi
filled ponds. The restaurant is open for
breakfast, lunch and dinner.
This is an older hotel, so much of the
property is dated, but it is kept clean, the
staff is very helpful and it is extremely
reasonable and in a great location. |
