Directions:
From Waikiki, take Kalakaua Avenue
heading southeast; then bear left
onto Monsarrat Avenue. Follow
Monsarrat as it becomes Diamond Head
Road. The entrance to Diamond Head
State Monument will be on your
right. Follow the winding road
uphill and through a tunnel, which
will lead directly into the parking
lot. The trail head is located to
the left of the back of the lot. |

speak in terms of north and south, east and
west, but rather mauka (mountain side) or
makai (toward thge sea), Ewa (toward the Ewa
plains), or Diamond Head. Such is the
significance of Oahu's most prominent and
recognizable geographic landmark to the
