OVERVIEW |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Hawaiiloa Ridge is not nearly as trafficked
as the neighboring Kuliouou Ridge, despite
its relatively easy access, stunning views,
and straight path to the Koolau summit. The
check in is a minor inconvenience, since you
theoretically need to hike with someone who
has a local ID. Hotels have been know to
call ahead for there guests, but how
effective that is depends on who's manning
the guard shack. Usually, local hikers are
willing to let visitors join there party to
get through the gate. The tradeoff is that
you get a free tour of one of the island
most exclusive neighborhoods, with
multi-million dollar homes around every
bend......... |
