OVERVIEW |
|
| |
|
|
| |
For better or wore, there are no surprises
on this trail. Koko Crater towers over its
otherwise flat surroundings and is visible
from miles away. The trail, which follows an
abandoned tramway to the summit, rises
straight up. There are no switchbacks and no
relief from an assent that only gets steeper
as it reaches the top. Marathoners,
athletes, and even boxers flock to the trail
because it offers a powerful cardiovascular
and muscular workout that can be completed
in as little as 45 minutes. However, you
don't need to be a high level endurance
athlete to make it up the more than 1,000
railroad ties that lead to the 1,208 foot
summit, just patience and a tad daring......... |
