OVERVIEW |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The Makapuu Tide Pools have long been a
secret treasure for local hikers, many of
whom still remain mum about their access
points. And while increased attention in the
media has let that secret out somewhat, the
daunting decent helps to ensure that the
pools are almost never crowded. The
shoreline path is safer but underused
because its a long, boring approach through
dry, barren fields. If you decide to take
either route, bring plenty of water and be
sure to liberally apply and reapply the
sunscreen; aside from a cave on the side of
the mountain, there's no shade anywhere......... |
